young people over the years have been involved in a
wide variety of Residentials: e.g. taking part in
cross-community activities at Corrymeela Centre,
Ballycastle; assisting with the disabled at the
Share Centre in Co. Fermanagh; working in National
Trust Acorn Camps; participating in international
Scout and Guide Camps; acting as junior leaders in
cross-community holidays for young people from
troubled areas in Northern Ireland; and helping with
the sick and disabled on a pilgrimage to Lourdes.
As with all aspects of DofE work, the Gold Residential section helps to open up our young people's minds to new experiences, ideas and visions and helps to broaden their outlook on life.
